Ericeira has so many incredible surfing waves, in 2011 it’s coastline was declared a ‘World Surfing Reserve’. This title protects the waves from any kinds of development that could effect future generations from enjoying the waves the way we do now.
Being the only World Surfing Reserve in Europe, brings many surfers to Ericeira. As well as having world class waves for advanced riders, there are also a couple of beaches that re great for beginners – but due to the crowds these spots are not recommended during peak-season.
Our school in Ericeira avoid the peak season crowds by surfing at their own ‘secret spot’.. It’s flanked by rocks but with local knowledge, our coaches keep you in the sand-bottomed area, safe from hazards – and most importantly, away from crowds!
